Just say no to petroleum jelly, there are many natural alternatives.

Petroleum Jelly, aka Vaseline is a by-product of oil drilling build-up that was found on the oil rig machine in the mid-1800's.  It has also been taken from the state it's found in and refined even more whether at a high or low grade, we don't know. If it's a low grade refinement it could still contain trace elements of cancer causing chemicals.

What are reasons we use Petroleum Jelly?  It's cheap.  And we use it for a variety of abrasions, blisters, rashes (even baby diaper rashes), cuts and almost anything that says open wound.  It acts as a barrier between the cut and the outside world, which in theory isn't going to kill anyone.  But why put a chemical on an open wound?  Why not use something soothing and healing?  Something your body would crave over a chemical laden cheap product?

We have 2 products we recommend.

Sweet Feet Butter - a combination of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Sweet Almond Oil infused with lavender buds, with added Beeswax, Vitamin E and Lavender Essential Oil has the consistency of a salve and we highly recommend for cuts and wounds.  Lavender has been shown to help heal skin, relieve sun burns, minor skin abrasions and more.  Lavender also has high levels of Vitamin E which helps the skin repair itself faster, which is another reason this is a perfect choice for your skin healing needs. **We also have a peppermint version which we would recommend avoid putting on open wounds, especially if you are in pain.

Body Balm - if you are looking for an unscented option or our essential oil option Essentially Lavender Vanilla, we recommend our Body Balm for assisting in an alternative for petroleum jelly.  With ingredients you've heard so much about like Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E it's a great alternative and you can use it for so many things.

So whether your using it as a lip scrub by adding sugar to it, cuticle cream, a skin softener, hair dye protector, diaper rash protectant, etc. why not choose something natural instead, with ingredients you understand and trust.  Both of our products are great at protecting the skin, with ingredients that work WITH your skin to help heal cuts, abrasions, etc.

We are also currently working on both a specific diaper rash butter and healing balm, both with more herbs to assist with helping your skin heal itself for a variety of ailments, so be on the look-out for that soon.

If you have any questions about these products or any of our products, feel free to ask!  You can touch base with us here.

Do you use Vaseline?  Something natural?  Tell us your thoughts.

Dew is available at the introductory price of $30.00 $28.00 and is available with our current sale that ends Sunday.

More about the ingredients inside Dew:
Hazelnut Oil is one of the best carriers for oily skin, where it offers softening activity, fast absorption, and no greasiness.  It's diffusive activity makes it a great choice for sensitive skin, and baby skin, where it leaves the skin soft, and smooth.
Avocado Oil is pressed from the fruit, unike most carrier oils that are pressed from the seed or nut.  Rich in vitamins, and anti-oxidants, and even trace minerals, Avocado Oil is excellent for dry skin and wrinkles.  Avocado Oil can also be calming to inflamed skin, helping to comfort and cool.
Evening Primrose Oil, being one of the richest sources of GLA, is invaluable in personal care products where it helps aleviate inflammatory skin conditions, especially eczema and psoriasis. Evening Primrose Oil is also the perfect choice for all of your mature skin care products where it offers support, for healthy skin physiology, relief for dry skin, and improves circulation.
Sesame Seed Oil is rich in two unusual compounds, sasamine and sasamoline, that together with beta-sitosterol and high levels of essential fatty, and polyunsaturated, acids gives Sesame Seed Oil restructuring and, anti-oxidant, activity.
Jojoba Oil Golden, a liquid wax pressed from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis beans.  Jojoba Oil is unique among the carriers and is prized in skin, and body, care because it is a waxy ester, rather than a triglyceride, making it similar to human sebum.
Olive Squalane, absolutely essential oil for the skin, especially when a regenerative effect is desired.  The skin has sufficient levels when it's young, and healthy.  As we age the levels drop considerably and by the time we're in our mid-thirties, and forties, we no longer have sufficient levels to maintain healthy skin.  It is believed that this drop off is, in part, responsible for many of the signs of aging skin, including the tendency to become easily damaged, thinner, and lack lustre.  The addition of Olive Squalane, can help to replenish the natural levels lost through the normal aging process, contributing regenerative activity to restore a more youthful appearance, and resistance to inflammatory conditions.
Carrot Seed Oil XVirgin is high in essential fatty acids, and phytosterols, making it one of the best choices for regenerative, and anti-aging applications, damaged skin treatments, and facial products.
Seabuckthorn Oil  is a unique combination of unsaturated, and saturated, fatty acids, plant sterols and carotenes, make this oil one of the most powerful in the fight against dry, lack lustre, and aging skin.
Argan Oil is one of the most sought after botanical oils in todays market. With its unique composition of unsaturated fatty acids, carotenoids, plant sterols, polyphenols, ferulic acid, Vitamin E and squalene, it delivers a therapeutic profile that offers regenerative and restructuring activity to all of your skin care products. This revitalizing oil improves skin's flexibility to improve skin softness while also offering anti-oxidant protection.  Most of the research on this oil showed it's best attribute to be the reduction of wrinkles and smoothing of skin, making it a great choice for all anti-aging and mature skin products.
Cranberry Seed Oil contains one of the highest anti-oxidant, and phytosterols contents, of any of the vegetable / fruit oils, making it an excellent addition to your natural sun protection products where it will help to prevent photo damage.  Anti-oxidants that are consumed can reach the skin but, with free radical damage, being the heaviest assault on the skin, and the cause of almost all of the signs of aging, and unhealthy skin, it is beneficial to apply them topically where their protection can go to work immediately.

A few of the essential oils we've included and how they are known to help your skin and/or hair:
Frankincense offers healing, and anti-aging benefits where it rejuvenates, and repairs, the skin.  Also has shown lightening of age spots.
Lavender is nurturing, healing, soothing
Geranium is well known for its ability to tone the skin, and revitalize the complexion..
Palmarosa is known for tightening and toning of the skin.
Petitgrain  oil, like the other citrus oils, is a great choice for oily and congested skin conditions where it will assist in reducing the excess oil without over drying the skin, which causes the skin to over produce oil in an attempt to protect itself. Petitgrain may also be used for other skin types when combined with the balancing, hydrating oils. Petitgrain also offers an astringent effect on the skin making it suitable for hair care applications.
Ylang Ylang, helps restore balance to skin.
