Shea butter is a slightly yellowish or ivory-colored fat extracted from the nut of the African Shea tree. The African Shea tree begins to produce nuts after fifteen years and it can take up to thirty years to get the first quality crop from a particular tree. Shea has many uses including an oil in cooking, lamp oil, etc. but is most widely recognized for its ”awesomeness” as a skin care ingredient.
Is awesomeness even a word? We aren’t sure but we love our Shea products so much it’s the best word to describe how we feel about Shea.
